Watch Out Ladies

Turn your volume way up to fully appreciate :)

Poop and Paparazzi in Palm Springs

Last week at this time (9:30pm) I was just entering flight number 3 of that day, and with a drive from Richmond still ahead of me...I think I am just now finally recovered.  It was a LONG day, but it was worth it...I was coming home from a fun adults only trip to Palm Springs.

Just me, Mom, Papa, Gigi, Beth, Mike and Sarah (my sweet future sister-in-law).  The weather wasn't great and Papa was beyond sick, (both physically ill and grotesque to the rest of us).  He managed to fake healthy for an hour and 20 minutes - just enough time to ride in the limo, renew wedding vows with mom and order an expensive wedge salad.  On my last day there, and after 5 days in bed, we finally hung out & went out to lunch.  However, when that still made him sick we decided to take him to urgent care.  Poor Papa!!!  The only thing that could be worse than having the flu, is having the flu on a much needed vacation and sharing the bathroom with 7 people.

We did have fun hanging out, lots of laughs and trashy magazines.  We had a nice walk one morning on the golf course, sat by the pool for a couple hours, went to the casino (won $85), bought a new Coach purse, a yummy wedding cake that was calling my name all week, a limo ride with music way too loud, lots of amazing galleries, shopping (looking only, except the purse) and an amazing dinner with just mom on my last night.

The vow renewal was very nice.  Definatley much better than the original 10 years ago...I won't even begin to explain,...you had to be there.

And the paparazzi was in full force...

Well-Check Time

Mid-March seems like a good time to get G's 4 year and Macie's 9 year annual well checks.  Of course, we have been to the doctor since their birthdays (a few times, in fact) but never for a "well" visit, just lots of sick ones.  So, we went healthy yesterday.  Stats...

G, 4 years 3 months, 37 lbs, 40 inches, 50th percentile
Macie, 9 years 1 month, 49 lbs, 47 inches...nope, still not on charts

Last year we met with the pediatric endocrinology dept at UVa.  She has had a couple bone age scans, that indicate "Constitutional Growth Delay" aka delayed bone growth; meaning she still has the potential for a spontaneous growth spurt.  If she continues at this growth rate with no rapid growth spurt she has a projected adult height of 4'10.  She does qualify for growth hormone, but we decided to hold off on it for now.  (There are certain factors that would cause us to revisit that decision if necessary).  She is healthy, strong and perfect.  We don't want to make a big deal of it...unfortunately for her, having a 5 year old sister taller than you is a enough of a reminder.
